The Village of South Holland partners with all major Utility Companies to provide utility permits when work is required to be completed either in the Village Right-of-Way or Utility Easements. Examples include: ComEd, Nicor, AT&T, WOW, Comcast, Verizon, etc…

Utility companies are required to fill out the application below and attach all supporting documents, including: maps, plans and other drawings or cover sheets. Once an application is received the Public Works Director will review and approve the application within 5 days of receipt.

If subcontractors are used for the on-site work, they must be registered with the Village and be compliant with the requirements & fees according to their trade. Some utility work may be done by direct employees of the utility company so registration is not necessary. The Village does not perform inspections on work done by Utility Companies. Once the application is approved the Utility Company will be provided a Permit Placard for the work. Work is to be completed within 12 months of the issuance of the permit.
