Branch Pick-Up Program

Branch Pick-Up Dates:
April 1 through October 31

Sec. 16-7. – Tree branches.
Solid Waste Contractor Collection – Tree branches and brush may be deposited at the disposal site outside the approved receptacle provided that the tree branches and brush are securely bundled and tied with twine in lengths of no more than forty-eight ( 48) inches in length. Individual tree branches shall not be greater than four ( 4) inches in diameter.

Village Staff Collection – Tree branches and brush may be deposited at the disposal site in untangled and manageable piles the day after the Solid Waste collection day. Individual tree branches shall not be greater than eight (8) feet in length and no more than eight (8) inches in diameter. All branches must have the cut end facing the street.

The following items are NOT acceptable:

  • Any tree branches or brush generated as a result of commercial tree or shrubbery maintenance shall be removed from the residence by the entity performing the maintenance.
  • Thorny Material, such as rosebushes or thorny branches.
  • Root balls (Roots with dirt attached).
  • Large Logs or Stumps larger than eight (8) inches in diameter.
  • Railroad Ties.
  • Branches with nails, bolts, or other metal attached

Residents following the rules and wishing to have their branches and brush collected by the Village should place them behind the curb on the day of your regular garbage service.  Public Works crews will begin collecting branches the day after your regular garbage service.  Due to weather, infrastructure emergencies, or other potential service issues, please allow Public Works 7 days to collect your branches.
