POSITION SUMMARY:
SoHo Cafe, based in the Village of South Holland, Illinois, a leading suburb located 25 miles south of downtown Chicago, is seeking baristas to serve coffee, ice cream, and prepared food.
SoHo Cafe is a quaint cafe in downtown South Holland that serves fresh-made elevated homestyle cooking, along with Sherman’s ice cream and Kusanya coffee. With its beautiful, calming décor, outdoor patio with fire pit, and savory menu, SoHo Cafe is a popular community hangout and regional destination spot.
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, and taking orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers as they enter
- Take orders
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages, ice cream, and prepared food
- Receive and process payments
- Keep the bar area clean
- Clean up after patrons throughout the café
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Previous work experience as a barista or waiter/waitress preferred.
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Must have open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Cool under pressure.
