The South Holland Community Center is seeking energetic and motivated Sports Camp Counselors to help lead a fun, active, and engaging summer sports camp experience. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth, staying active outdoors, and helping campers build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for physical activity.
Position Summary
Sports Camp Counselors supervise and lead campers through a variety of sports, athletic activities, and outdoor games designed to promote skill development, teamwork, and positive competition. Counselors help create a supportive environment where participants can learn, grow, and enjoy an active summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise campers and maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
- Lead and assist with daily sports activities, drills, and recreational games
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive participation
- Support athletic skill-building sessions across a variety of sports
- Accompany campers on scheduled field trips and special events
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and emergency protocols
- Assist with equipment setup, cleanup, and program organization
This is a seasonal position.
Requirements:
• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
• Must pass drug screening
• Applicants 18 years of age and older must complete background check
• Must be able to carry out oral and written instructions
• Must be available to work some evening, weekend, and holiday hours
