Hazardous waste must be carefully disposed of in order to make sure no one is hurt. Hazardous waste that is not properly disposed of can cause a serious threat to water supplies or the local environment. Common household hazardous waste items include herbicides, oil-based paints, used motor oil, cleaning products, batteries, insecticides, pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs and much more.
