The Village of South Holland, Illinois, a leading suburb located 25 miles south of downtown Chicago with a population of approximately 22,000, is seeking a Landscape Professional with its Public Works Department.

Essential Function:
Under specific direction, qualified workers will perform skilled assigned duties involved in the general landscape installation and maintenance, upkeep, and seasonal planting around public property, municipal buildings, and parks. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Mowing, edging, and fertilizing lawns,
• Weeding and mulching landscape beds,
• Trimming and removing small trees, hedges, and shrubs,
• Planting shrubs, flowers, and trees,
• Watering gardens, lawns, and landscapes,
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health,
• Landscape clean-up and planting bed maintenance,
• Hardscape installation, maintenance, and restoration, working with stone and block.
• Park maintenance
Requirements:
• Must have experience in the landscape industry
• Have knowledge of or education in urban forestry, arboriculture, and horticulture.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Knowledge of the use of hand tools, ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with minimum supervision

Starting Hourly Rate: $26.26 to $31.17 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
