The South Holland Community Center is seeking attentive and responsible seasonal Lifeguards to help ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for all guests. Lifeguards play an important role in supervising pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and supporting a variety of aquatic programs, classes, and community events throughout the summer season.
Position Summary
Lifeguards monitor pool areas to maintain safety and prevent accidents while providing excellent customer service to community members. This position supports open swim, lessons, camps, special events, and other aquatic programming held at the South Holland Community Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor swimmers and pool areas to ensure participant safety at all times
- Enforce facility rules and safety procedures consistently and respectfully
- Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies and provide first aid when needed
- Maintain alertness and active surveillance of assigned areas
- Assist with setup and support of aquatic programs, classes, and events
- Communicate professionally with patrons, staff, and supervisors
- Follow emergency protocols as trained
- Help maintain a clean and organized pool environment
Requirements:
• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
• Must pass drug screening
• Applicants 18 years of age and older must complete background check
• Must be able to carry out oral and written instructions
• Must be available to work some evening, weekend, and holiday hours
