The Village encourages residents to host and attend block parties so we can get to know our neighbors better. From these block parties, many relationships have been forged and neighborhoods strengthened. 

The Village wants to make it as easy as possible for residents to host a block party. So we are providing a mobile Block Party Trailer! The trailer comes stocked with all of the equipment you need to host a block party.

Block Party Trailer Reservation Information

• The Block Party Trailer is available for South Holland residents to reserve from April 1-October 31.
• The trailer will only be used for legitimate block parties. Individual family gatherings, such as birthday parties or family reunions, do not qualify.
• There is NO charge for the use of the trailer.
• The trailer is available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be reserved by filling out the form below. Only one trailer per group.
• Each individual block/neighborhood may only reserve the trailer once per season. This is to ensure other neighborhoods have the opportunity to use the trailer. 
• The Public Works department will bring the trailer to your block on the Friday before the party. You will receive a code to open the trailer, then unload whatever equipment is needed for your gathering. After the party concludes, hosts will place the items back in the trailer. (The Village will provide clear instructions on where everything goes.) Then the Public Works department will pick up the trailer on the Monday following the party.
• The trailer MUST be reserved prior to one week (7 days) before the event. This is for staffing and logistical purposes. We will not accept late entries.

What’s in the Block Party Trailer?

• 8 folding tables
• 2 folding picnic tables
• 40 chairs
• Road blocks
• Garbage cans
• 2 60-quart coolers
• Games/Activities: Bean bags, Connect 4, Jenga, and burlap sacks for sack races

The user of the trailer assumes responsibility for the trailer and its contents from the time they receive it until it is picked up by Village staff. An inventory will be taken when the trailer is returned. Please notify the Village of anything that is missing or damaged.
