Village Clerk

Village Clerk – Sallie D. Penman

Village Clerk since 2004 - South Holland Resident since 1987


Role

The Village Clerk serves as the official Keeper of Records, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all Village proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and record minutes of Village Board meetings, held on the first and third Monday evenings of each month, as well as all special meetings.
  • Sign official Village documents, including Ordinances, Resolutions, and Reports.

Deputy Clerk

Appointed by the Clerk, the Deputy Clerk oversees the day-to-day operations of the Collector’s Office.

Clerk’s Office Services

The Clerk’s Office is responsible for collecting Village fees and permits, including:

  • Water usage payments
  • Vehicle stickers (automobiles, motorcycles, and trucks)
  • Business licenses
  • Garage permits
  • Other fees and fines levied by the Village
