Sex Offender Registration in South Holland

Keeping our community safe is a top priority. State and federal laws require individuals convicted of certain offenses to register their address and personal information with law enforcement.

These laws also allow the public to access certain information so residents can stay informed and aware.

What this means for South Holland residents:

  • Certain offenders are required by law to register where they live
  • Registration information is available to the public
  • Information is updated regularly and can be searched by name, city, or status

How the South Holland Police Department responds:

The South Holland Police Department actively monitors registered offenders in our community by:

  • Conducting regular and unannounced address checks
  • Verifying registration information for accuracy
  • Having patrol officers complete registrations and maintain direct contact

This approach allows officers who are out in the community every day to stay familiar with registered individuals and their locations, including proximity to schools, parks, and neighborhoods.

Additional Illinois protections:

In addition to sex offender registration, Illinois also tracks individuals convicted of violent offenses against youth through a separate registry. This helps distinguish between different types of offenses while keeping the public informed.
