ComEd Vegetation Management

ComEd Vegetation Management Work Scheduled in South Holland

Residents may notice vegetation management work taking place in certain areas of South Holland between May and July as part of ComEd's ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and reliable electrical system.

This work includes selective herbicide treatments within utility rights-of-way to manage woody vegetation that could grow tall enough to interfere with power lines and electrical equipment. Trees and vegetation contacting power lines are a leading cause of power outages, and this maintenance helps reduce service interruptions and improve system reliability.

ComEd has already notified affected customers and property owners directly through mailed postcards or door hangers with information specific to their property, including details about the planned work, contact information, and available dispute resolution processes.

The work will be performed by qualified vegetation management crews under the supervision of ComEd personnel to ensure it is completed safely and properly.

Residents with questions about vegetation management activities may contact ComEd directly at 1-800-Edison-1.
